Microsoft Based Computers
For our Microsoft marketplace , we cannot use
computers with Windows 95, or Windows 98. Due to the ram
requirements for Microsoft Programs,we
prefer a complete working machine with a minimum of 1 Gigabyte of Ram Memory
and is 3 to 4 years old. It must
have a ( COA , Certificate of Authenticity) The COA is
a Microsoft label with words Widows XP home or Windows XP Professional,
Machines
with Illegally downloaded software are not accepted for purchase
!
We need both Desktops and Laptops.
We will buy a desktops
without a LCD monitor.
On Laptops we must have the Power Adapter
with the laptop. We do not buy computers for parts, we need working systems
with working components.
Ubuntu Linux Based Computers
For our Linux Marketplace
,We may have a use for systems that are Pentium 4 or better with at least 1 Gig of ram memory, a
reasonable hard Disk 40 gigs or more and
CD/RW. We don’t care about
operating systems as we are going to reformat the drive and install Linux.
Please note: that machines with 128 or
256 bytes of memory are mostly useless under any operating system. Since the linux
system is optimized for 1 gigabyte of memory it is a good fit for recycling
older systems.
If you have an older machine that meets
the Linux requirement, We can upgrade your system to
Linux for $120.00.
What is Ubuntu ?
Ubuntu is composed of many software packages, the vast
majority of which are distributed under a free software license. Ubuntu
focuses on usability,
security and stability.
The
benefit of Linux is that viruses must be loaded and Installed by the user. In
Microsoft a text file can be converted to a program without user intervention.
Bottom line Apple with Linux and Ubuntu with Linux are
not exposed to viruses the way microsoft
is exposed. Fewer to no viruses on Linux.
The
Linux operating system is a very compact system with very little bloat. The linux system is
quick and fast and has been developed from the beginning to operate on cloud
computers (Time Share Computers). You
can see this when using Google. Download speeds are awesome. If you want performace
without compromise , choose Linux. The beauty of Linux
is that it works on your Smart CellPhone and can be
robust enough to run EBAY Corp.
Monitors
We are looking for LCD Monitors. The Old 17” and 19” GLASS
CRT Monitors are a drug on the market. From time to time we run low and they may be
of interest. Please call first.

PRINTERS
The price of printers has plummeted so
low that there is no market for used printers. Walmart
is selling them for $30.00 with ink cartidges.
